Installed Dirt Devil Vacuum
On our previous rv (5th wheel) it had a built in vacuum cleaner (Dirt Devil) with 3 wall mount openings to plug the hose into. After selling 5th wheel I had kept alot of the extras that had come with it includingall of the vacuum cleaning attachments (30 Ft hose, expanding wand, corner crevice tool, brush tool, vacuum head for hard floors and carpet, and a rug rat. I decided that sence I had now done the 30 to 50 amp conversion and now had a few extra breaker slots to install a vacuum. I contacted PPL and spoke with their parts department and explained that I had all the vacuum tools, but no vacuum. They sold me the the Dirt Devil CT-1500 and a wall mount for the hose. I the set out to find a place to install both that would allow easy access to change out vacuum bags and allow for easy install of unit and to get to the wall mount to the vacuum. I decided on doing my install directly under my refrigerator behind a drawer. Breaker box is about 2 feet away, wall mount (for vacuum hose) 2 feet away. I built a shelf for the unit to sit on, wired it to the breaker box on its own 15 amp breaker, used a 2 inch rubber 90' off vacuum to wall mount with 2 inch rubber coupler (2 inch pvc pipe between each) and mounted the wall connection. Lift door and vacuum turns on plug in hose and clean floor. Very easy project and adds value to motorhome. Pics's to follow.

They are great! We have installed one in each of our motorhomes. The current one we installed it in a basement cabinet and ran the hose up alongside the duct under the fridge and placed the port behind the pantry door.

Ok I was incorrect on the pipe size, all pvc pipe and 90' elbow and coupler are 1 1/2 inches in diameter, sorry for the typo. Also the small gray wire is the trigger from the vacuum hose port door to the vacuum, it is what tells the unit to come on when the door is opened. Here are the pics.

That is exactly where Winnebago installed them! My coach came with a Maxum RV2000 (blue), which I found was basically a Dirt Devil CV950 in a different color. I can connect the hose either under the fridge, or in and outside compartment just under the fridge. When I swapped the RV fridge for a household model I had to lower the fridge just a bit but was able to keep the vacuum in place.

My rig came with one, sure wouldn't bother ordering another one! Easier and quicker to use my Dyson V-6.

We would not be without a central vac again. Out of the way and sucks well. Pun intended. No really good place to store upright vac. Never will have a battery operated one because of battery replacement costs.

Is a central vac required to be vented to the outside or simply into the compartment?

"robval1987".....We love ours....one suggestion though. When ours and I know many others came new from the factory, they stuffed a spare bag inside the unit, behind the bag that is connected to the hose. It didn't work well with the spare bag in there.

They are just vented into the compartment. The filter bag does a great job of keeping the dust contained in the unit.

I installed a DD in our MH and we love it. I installed our under the sink and behind the water heater. There was more then enough room there for the unit and to change the filter. The access port is very close to the unit so there's minimal vacuum lose so the unit really sucks [emoji3]. And with the location I can take the hose outside to clean my truck or other things. It sure beats having to lug around or find a place to keep a vacuum cleaner.

mine is under the bed in the master. THe filter bags are pretty robust and doesnt create any unusual dust. At one point mine was so full... I thought it bit the dust. Found the replacement bags in a drawer... and realized I didnt have to be so miserly with them. It has enough suction to pull debris out of the floor vents.
