Installing ceiling fan in BR

Started the ceiling fan install today..... I found a 12V source to tap into in my closet light switch. I ran a wire to the new fan switch that I mounted next to the bed. I removed the filler strip on the ceiling and will run the wires from the closet to the fan in that same path. I stopped for today because I decided to make a round base plate for additional stability that will match the wood in the MH. I'll post pics of the completed job soon!

Very nice work! My BR slides are going to make it tough but I'm working on it!

Thanks for sharing...

Yes, tell us where you got the fan. How big are the blades? I've been wanting to do this but need short blades due to two slide outs.

The fan blades measure 36" and is manufactured by JRV Products, Inc out of Santa Ana CA. (www.jrvproductsinc.com) I'm happy with how it turned out

Very nice!! How did you attach it to the ceiling? Or alternately how did you attach the wood form you made to the ceiling?

There is a 1 1/2" wide track that runs across the entire ceiling. I drilled holes in the round plate and used self tapping screws to drill into the track. (2 screws per side) It secured the wood nicely. Then I attached the fan motor to the wood plate.
