Insurance

I know I am risking some flaming, but I did a search here for insurance and not much relevant showed up. All I need is recommendations on companies that are MH friendly. I understand that everyone's quote will be different, but I'm just looking for a few places to start.

State Farm has been insuring our RVs for 19 years.

You didn’t mention if you were full time on not. State Farm will not insure a full timer. I had Allied a division of Nationwide for many years but they recently increased their premium. I now have Geico and have saved a lot of $$$. Geico also insures my Jeep, Harley, and rentals as well as an umbrella policy

For us while State Farm has our auto, house, etc., their premiums for our RV and golf cart were totally outrageous. We had Nationwide but now have Progressive.

Progressive is who I've been using, they've been giving me the best rates.
However, due to Progressive raising my rate 10% with zero claims, earlier today I requested a quote from an RV insurance broker (American Adventure Insurance) to see what they can find.
I'll use a broker and let them hunt the different companies, from what I've seen they can find rates as good or better than what I can find calling around myself - and it's much easier to let them do the work.

We've had State Farm for 25+ years on all our vehicles and home.Recently my BIL bought a Pace Arrow and his insurance,Shelter, was half what mine was on the Dolphin.I switched a couple of older vehicles along with the MH to get the multiple car discount with Shelter also.Almost half of what State Farm was charging with the same coverage.Fingers crossed, hope I didn't make a mistake.

Here is a link to a little over 1K threads, A few may not relate directly to your question, and many will be aged out. You can look at the titles and dates and find very recent stuff to help you out.

Ours is with Progressive. When we first bought ours, I added it on at Farm Bureau and they had no clue and it ended up as a "business vehicle". If it was being used for business, I don't know about it.

Progressive was about 1/2 of what GS quoted us through Integon, and other than some rate increases, not very many complaints. I'm sure that we will be getting great info (IE: PROPAGANDA) at Tampa in January.

Try a RV specialist like Miller Agency in Oregon.

I tried them twice. First time they called and wanted to know what I was paying now. Told the lady that was their job and I'd decide what I wanted to go with. Never heard another word from them.
Second time they did get me a decent quote and I bought it, later I found that The Hartford was better.

Was using Foremost Ins until this year but they kept raising rates, the added a 'In-experienced driver' clause (after 5 years with them) for another rate increase. Found a link on this site that recommended Safeco Ins. (A Liberty Mutual Co)
Saved over half what I was paying for the same policy. I used Destination Financial Svcs in Missoula, Mt.

The trick here is to avoid getting lost in what others pay or where they found the lowest rates, cause odds are heavy that your quotes will be much different. Just grab ALL the names of the companies or agencies and get as many quotes as you can to find what applies in your state and works well for your needs..

Insurance premiums vary for lots of reasons (my mom worked for insurance agencies most of her life, so I learned a bit) and those reasons are things only statisticians and actuaries could love...

Your Zip code, census tract, credit rating, age, gender, claims history, income, family size, marital status, home value, education... so many factors that can make your premiums very different from the folks a couple blocks (or counties) away.
