insurance for an Class A in a llc

Got a question. I am new to RVing and live in Va. The personal property tax rate here is out of the world. I just got hit with LARGE yearly tax bill. I am looking at putting the unit in an LLC in Montana. I am having a problem finding an insurance company that will insure an RV in an LLC. Is the anyone that has done this and how did it work out with insurance.
Thanks for any help.

You missed the greatest advantage to an LLC, and that is Montana does not charge sales tax on a motorhome purchase when owned by an LLC. You can still transfer your m/h to an LLC on MT, I would guess $1000 up front to form an LLC, annual registration around $400, plus annual fees for the LLC to be $150... all based on my experience. Contact some MT law firms and then crunch the ##. If you own property in another state that does not charge an annual tax, you may be able to title your m/h in that state. Not a lawyer, just my experience.

Insurance is the least of your worries. State after state is going after tax cheats who do the Montana LLC thing.. You do not want to find out how much that will cost you.

VA will go after you for tax fraud. Montana, LLCs are becoming a thing of the past
