Shedding one AC?? If you have 50 amp service you should not be shedding a AC because of power. I had a Bounder with 2 13500 ac and I ran another portable 12000 btu from a wall plug inside the MH and never had problems shedding. If you are shedding an AC I would check the settings of the intellitec.

Based on the load shedding comment I'm going to assume your RV is a 30 amp RV. Upgrading your A/C to 2 bigger A/C is not going to stop load shedding. You will have to upgrade the breaker panel and the wiring to 50 amps. Load shedding is a way to reduce the number of amps currently being used so the total number of amps does not exceed 30. Example: if you are running two A/C (25 amps total) and you fire up the coffee pot (12 amps) you are using 37 amps. Normally a breaker would shut off the power. But with load shedding one or both air conditioners will shut down until the amps drops low enough to start the A/Cs again.

As Mrt1111said if you have a 30 amp service it will not run everything. Rewiring would be expensive. I'm still surprised that 37' MH with two AC is 30amp service. Rather than rewiring the coach other way is to run a separate power wire (heavy duty extension cord) directly to one of the ACs then plug that directly into the 15/20amp plug on the pedestal. Safe travels

Your A/Cs are drawing too much current. I have a 36’ 2000 30 amp Bounder with the Intellitec system and two Coleman 13.5k BTU A/Cs. I live in the desert and can run them full time and cool the coach. The only time I shed is when I run the refrigerator or hot water heater on electricity. How old are you A/C units and what shape are they in. If you can, you should use an amp meter to measure the current draw from each unit. I also assume your running on shore power. Running on just the generator is tough. Hope this helps.

A 2002 PA was only 30a so you wouldn't be able to run both AC's compressors at the same time. That's why the Intellitec sheds one. You'll have to put in a new panel & rewire to bring it up to 50A if you want a bigger AC in the rear.

We had a 2002 PA 37A for several years. Its 30a service. Both air conditioning units would operate simultaneously and shed one should another high load appliance was activated. It cooled ok in 95+ degree temperatures, but not great.

You can upgrade to 50 amp by putting in a new primary breaker panel and 50 amp transfer switch (assuming you have one?),

You would remove part of your load - such as one A/C and your interior lights/inverter to the new panel and use your existing 30 A panel as a subpanel for the new 50 amp.

The job would not be to difficult - but the transfer switch/panel and labor by an electrician would start getting steep.

If you're a DIYer, this would be good project for the late fall when the weather isn't too bad.

Once you upgrade to 50 amps, you could swap out the A/C so you really have the capacity to cool. (I've got a 36 foot with 15K in the front and 13.5K in the back - we're in Utah and the A/Cs can run all day - meaning, they're losing the battle!).

I don't understand why would I keep the 30 amp breaker panel?

This is what I would do and the hardest part is getting the new #12 extension cord from the new AC down to a basement compartment. By plugging both in you have 45 amps of power. I would also put in a 15 amp outlet on the generator so you could run both units while running the generator...plugging the new extension cord in there.
