Interstate GC2-XHD?, Xride, Tyler Truck Center
Over a month ago I took my MH to a Freightliner/Cummins Service Center for yearly engine/tranny/belts/etc service, repair of cab air fan, and check on popping when braking heavy. Engine service went fine but the fan turned into an ordeal of bad switchs and compressor... then the popping of brakes was actually bad tie-rods. Somewhere in all this a light was left on in engine compartment leading to batteries going dead. I OKed replacement knowing original 2200 Interstates were soon to need replacing anyway. Center called Interstate for replacement and they sent over four black/green top GC-2 deep cells claiming to be the upgrade to the 2200. Although a done deal now, I was just wondering if anyone else has found this a good replacement. Not having time for research in the deal, I'm hoping these batteries offer as good a service as the 2200s did.
As a side note, I have to give a thumbs up to Xride Ext Warranty for helping on tie rods and AC troubles (fan, switches, condenser, etc). While I am giving praises here I certainly feel I should mention Tyler (TX) Truck Center for great friendly and personable service. I was updated regularly with phone calls and e-mails. What could have been a more frustrating experience was held in check by a great service staff, especially s manager, Marla. I sure recommend this company if anyone is ever in need of their service (near Tyler at I-20/hwy 155).....chassis only but Southern RV is not far for possible "in house" needs. b
