Inverter Question

Hi.
We have a 2000W Magnum Inverter and has 600W solar installed. So far the inverter only powers the outlet under the TV in the living area, the bathroom outlet and the drivers area outlets. Does anyone how to activate additional outlets like the kitchen or bedroom ones?

You need someone with some electrical knowledge to locate the circuits you want connected, add up the expected watts to be sure you are not overloading the inverter, and connect them. DR

That is a typical wiring scheme but as mentioned 2000w is not a huge inverter.
My coach has one inverter circuit for just the microwave then the other goes to outlets which fortunately has the coverage needed.

That seems like unusually limited outlet coverage for a factory inverter setup, but I guess it is what it is. Connecting other outlets to the inverter requires physically re-wiring those circuits - nothing so simple as just "activating" them. The rewiring may be either simple or complex, depending on what is now there and how accessible it is. Since you don't seem to have the necessary skills, I suggest you get a work estimate from a qualified technician.

If you have 2 breaker panels like class a’s have it’s a pretty easy job to rewire at the breaker boxes. Really doesn’t make sense they didn’t give you more circuits off your inverter. Check the reset breakers on the inverter as well as the house.

, also! Part of the research has to be what else is on the circuits you want to "move to" inverter powered. Do you need to rewire some things, as well as just move them to the inverter powered breakers? You do not want to just move a circuit to the inverter until you understand the entire impact.

I suspect that your motorhome has an inverter sub panel. The inverter sub panel is normally physically part of the main 120v electrical panel, but electrically separate. If this is your setup then you will have one breaker labeled as inverter out, and another labeled inverter in.If this is your setup then moving your other outlet to the inverter is just a matter of moving that circuit to the inverter sub panel. You may need a half width breaker to make room in that section of the panel.

Depending on the inverter bypass capabilities and the wires to the inverter breakers wil determine how many amps can flow through your inverter sub panel. If for example your bypass is 20 amps , then moving that circuit to the inverter sub panel would limit you to 20 amps for all of those circuit. That 20 amps is a limit for when you are plugged in. So before you move circuits to the inverter sub panel , make sure that limit with the additional circuit isn't going to be too limiting when plugged in.
