Well,
I can't quite help you with your particular situation but, when our inverter/charger quit charging, it was time for a new one. So, the diligent wife found a 6 month old Magnum 2012ME for 1/2 price on Craigslist. We jumped on it and, I went to work on the exchange.

It was not very hard. I did have to create/fab up some new install brackets due to different mounting holes. But, that was no big deal. The wiring was almost the exact same. I had to run a new Phone line to the new remote I installed in the same place the original one for the Dimensions one was. A tad bit of a pain but, doable.

I don't know what your wiring difference might be but, unless the bracketry is different, it should not be too difficult for the exchange. Good luck.

I recently install a Magnum 2812. I'm assuming you also have the remote?
What are your questions?
It's pretty much straight forward.

Its not quite that easy as mount the inverter and change the wires over. The American Coach Co back in 2000 had an inverter made by Xantex Corp that incorporated all the electric in lines as well as all the switching back out, the lockout etc. I sent Amer Coach an email last Fri nite with my problems and bright and early Mon am they responded with all the RIGHT answers. They included buying a new transfer switch, remote panel, as well as a separate 4 circuit 125 Volt panel. They also included all the wiring that needed to be re-routed and where to hook them into the new parts. For all this I thank them as well as Magnum Corp for their help and last but not least RV Repair club. Thanks to all, the job is nearing completion.

Wink

The Heart Source Manager is what you have and it's probably not as difficult as racecar45 described unless everything is bad. A lot of older American Coach owners have done this. If you need it, you can use the Surge Guard $40250 power manager and transfer switch along with the new inverter.

For practical advice as well as a kit with all the things you need, contact Kevin Mallory at * Cruising American RV Service Co in Celina OH has 28 years of experience in RV service.
Kevin retired from the American Coach electrical engineering dept and opened his own RV service business. He KNOWS what is needed at the level where the work is actually done.

And tell him Gary Brinck sent you...

You can get help from other Amercian Coach Owners too, via their Yahoo Group. One guy has even written a troubleshootiong guide for the Source Manager:
