IRV2 Fills Void While Waiting for Delivery

We just found out our 2021 Newmar Dutch Star 4081 is due to come out of production on 5/19/2021 (which is 5 months from ordering on 12/21/2020). we are so excited - but that's a long wait

To fill the void we've been learning as much as we can from IRV2 - and there is so much to learn and so much available! This forum has been fun to read with much knowledge to be gained.

Also, we've been preparing our Jeep as a toad and getting all the other stuff needed to make RVing easier and fun.

This all makes time pass a little faster (especially given the pandemic and deep freeze here in Texas).

A BIG thank you to all the members who share on the forum

Welcome to the Newmar family. I know how excited you must be awaiting the delivery of your DS. It will be like Christmas in May when it finally arrives.

Let us know what we can do to help you.

Congratulations on the new Rig. The learning curve will really pick up when you get possession, especially the technology advances, but you are at an excellent place for advice and experience. Wishing you many miles and years of making great memories.

Congratulations! IRV2 serves the same purpose for me, but in my case it's how I pass time between trips when I'm lusting for the next one!

Doug...congratulations...make sure you're looking at the Newmar specific forum on here.

Even more fun, go back and watch your coach being built if Newmar is currently allowing it. We spent three days at the factory and did two tours a day. A coach typically works it's way through the factory in three days. We got to see ours five times over the three days in various stages of the build. They allow you to climb around in it in each stage and take photos.

Here is a photo of the first day as our chassis was waiting to go in the building.

That's too cool.....

If I ever get to purchase a new motorhome, I'll certainly try to get to see it being built at the factory...!!

I'd also go for the factory pick up...

Be careful while reading this forum!
It can be addicting.
I researched our 2020 Dutch Star 4081 for about a year on this forum before we ordered it.
During that time I created a long list of upgrades and modifications that were great ideas.
Fast forward to now ...18 months after purchase and I have done many of them and have more to do.
My wife suggested that I sign up for Modifications Anonymous!

We love our 4081 and the upgrades definitely make life easier and are fun to do.

The waiting part is the worst...

+++++

Quality Control (at least a month?) comes after production. Our wait will be 8 months, barring any changes.

Hang in there... the wait will be worth it.... besides, it is a little easier when others are waiting with you
