At that mileage maintenance records are paramount. At 140K the engine, transmission, etc...should be fine if maintained properly. My bigger concern would be chassis maintenance like air bags, tie rods, running gear, etc. Are parts that are Germain to the Dynomax chassis still available? As the owner of a Wanderlodge, orphaned coaches present unique challenges that are not insurmountable but can be challenging. Parts availability is a non issue on most things but you will find some parts that are obsolete or not available that will require modifications or changes on your part. Country Coach made a fine unit.

It’s really not a lot of miles on a diesel, but someone really drove that one. I would beat 55,000 miles would be average of that year. We maintained it should be fine if not run.

Well my 2013 has 68000 miles on it. That’s about 6800 miles per year. At 17 years old the CC averages to 8200 per year. Not too much in my opinion.

I too think that the biggest problem will be parts and you need to be mechanically inclined. You’ll find it very difficult to find anyone that does good quality mechanical work.

If the rig was maintained I wouldn't be concerned.

But the chassis may need a good going over. Brakes my need replacing but a lot depends on who drove it and diligent use of the engine brake.

In 2021 I did a good going over of my air system and fixed all the leaks, took time and ~$300 in material. I also ordered 2 air bags to carry as spare, I checked all of mine and they looked good, no leaks, but at 20 years old I figured it would be wise to carry a couple.
If you do pursue I'd suggest engine/transmission/generator oil samples, coolant samples. You could do 5 sample analysis for ~$170, well worth the piece of mind.

The mileage tells me it was on the move, which IMO is a good thing. In the 9 years we owned our Bus, we put 84,000 miles on it. If there are good records of its maintenance, have it inspected by a qualified professional. With a good report and a facility nearby that would provide service, I wouldn't be afraid of it. CC built a better coach 17 years ago, than most new models on the market today.

Nope, my 2020 has 47,000 miles. Runs like a top. But it has all the service done correctly at Freightliner.
Just did the 6 yr complete service at Freightliner in Gaffney including a full front and rear alignment along with a Tranny Change.

My 2003 with an ISL had 195K miles and still ran like a top. It was well maintained and I had no concerns about it not getting me home. Age is another issue, all of the rubber hoses and connections have degraded, electronics and appliances can also be a challenge. Agree--20-year old coaches in general, were better built, and CC's were near the top in quality.

As mentioned, I believe the consensus will be that you’re ok. The thing to remember is that the engine and drive train aren’t the only things that were used a lot. Upholstery, appliances, water heater, ac , leveling system, among others come to mind. Good luck.

The enemy of diesel engines is 1) not using them 2) deferring maintenance. If you have solid evidence of #2 I'd say don't worry and follow the above advice.

If you check out the miles driven per day thread, a lot of people drive their motorhomes more than they camp in them. This one must be a driver.

I have a friend who had a CC of about that vintage. They sold it with 220,000 on the odometer, and it was in fabulous shape. He was a real maintenance fiend, and there were lots of updates he had done. So it isn’t really about mileage, but maintenance. BTW, we have a 2018 with 68,000 miles on it. We do about 12,000-15,000 miles a year. We will probably slow down eventually, but we like to travel, not sit.

Lots of good info above. One thing to keep in mind is an RV dealer will discount the value by 50% or more. It will limit your options should you decide to trade it in.
