Is a noisy V10 normal?

This is my first posting. I am looking at buying a used class A. I tried out a 2007 Hurricane today with a V10. It was very quiet. I also tried a 2003 Allegro M30DA, which we really liked but we noticed much more engine noise. Is this normal for the Allegra and is there a way to put better insulation to quiet it down? Thanks for any help. Dale.

our old 2002 Pace Arrow with the V10 was very noisy,I'm sure you can always add more insulation.

Thanks. Do you think yours was noisy because of lack of good insulation? Were you happy with the V10?

The V-10 is an XLNT motor.....It was upgraded significantly in 2006, higher torque/HP and a better transmission....

If it were me, I would focus on 06 and later if it is in your budget.....Pre 06 was good too, just good improvement in 2006......

I too have the V10. It is noisy! But it runs like crazy with plenty of power to push a big old heavy rig. I plan on taking my engine cover off and seeing if I can figure a way to add some more sound barrier. It will be interesting to see if any one has done this, what they used and if it made much difference.

I have a v10 with 22k miles in a 2000 Monaco La Palma....I wouldn't say it was noisy, but then again I have not driven any other MH. I like the power, and I'm very glad it has low mileage.
My initial fear has been the thought of replacing the engine/transmission. It seams it wouldn't be to hard to come by a used v10 to put a few more years into this outfit.
