Is it the truth?
Had a salesman tell me that a DP is built different than a Gas MH. He stated that the body structure was "beefier" and would last longer on the DP.
Any truth?

A DP is built on a heavier chassis, true.

The suspension and axles are also beefier. Like said the frame is beefier. The gasser has to be lighter because the motor does not have the torque or hp to push the heavier DP. Too bad they can't build the DP stronger and lighter so you get better MPG.

He was claiming the wall and floor structures were heavier and stronger. I know the frame and suspension are heavier.

The coach portion of the motor home is the same construction gas or diesel. Go to any manufacturer's web site and take a look at their coach specs. You'll see they are built the same.

The DP has to be stronger and heavier to handle the weight and power of the engine. According to my manual, my ISL weighs over 1,700# dry.

X2. National RV proucts used same the house construction for the entire line. It would be way too expensive to run separate assembly lines.

It's possible, if not likely. Depends on the manufacturer. A DP can handle the weight of the heavier construction, if they're inclined to do that. Also, they might just use heavier construction on the higher cost models, which would be the DP units.
OTOH, the beefier, stiffer chassis of a DP will reduce the stress on the coach construction, so it's likely to last longer anyway.
