ISL diesel surging while driving

just purchased a class A tag axel 43 foot beast/beauty but I got it cheap because I was willing to take a project.
here is the issue.
while driving it seems like once it gains speed and rpm it surges
seems to be worst when cold, but once warms up itys not as bad, still bad but able to get it up to speed , it was sitting for a year, so I drained the fuel and filled with fresh fuel. drove it a good bit hoping it will clear, unfortunately it did not , any suggestions / I am all ears.

also I am new here so hello everyone, I am from western north Carolina. and hope to hear from you all soon.

Just start from scratch, did you change the fuel filter and water/fuel separator when you took on the new fuel ? Please list your engine. Good luck

First thing is fuel filters.

You say it's a ISL 43'. But what brand and what year RV? Rear radiator or side radiator?

As mentioned, your fuel filters are likely your problem. Many have 2 filters.

Also check the air filter, and entrance to the air intake. Critters can make a nest in the intake.

It’s a 8.9 Cummins in a 2004 newmar maountain aire side radiator , dose any one know the location of the second filter . To my knowledge there is only one filter which is located right near the turbo ( I think ) like I said I’m very new to this. Is there a chance that it could be some algae buildup

Cummins ISC/ISL external component locations. Yes you have 2 fuel filters the first/primary is a fuel/water separator filter, the second is the final fuel filter.
You found the final fuel filter, the primary will be before the injector pump,(exact location determined by MH mfgr) and usually has a clear plastic water collection bowl on the bottom; if their is no plastic bowl there will be a water drain fitting on the bottom of the filter.
Also inspect the fuel lift pump for leaking, it is above the starter. It only runs for a minute to prime the injector pump, then shuts off. If it then leaks it sucks air into the fuel system, which causes obvious problems. If the lift pump has been leaking there will be diesel fuel on the starter and on the ground where you park your MH.
