The transfer switch you have/had is Iota and had a recall on it but a lot of manufacturers didn't get it done. Fire hazard

My 2002 Windsor has this one https://www.rvupgradestore.com/LYGHT...-p/49-1749.htm

But Monaco also used the Iota but stopped in mid 2004 due to the recall.

I believe the recall was specific to RV manufacturers that used the wrong amount of torque (not enough) on the wire hold down screws. The Iota product itself was not affected by the recall and was OK when proper torque was applied.

Not sure on why but I found this

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...1Yzc3rCKKEUC4m
With the remedy to replace the transfer switch.

I know my coach Monaco initially installed the Iota then changed to the Lyght mid year. Not sure why.

Either way there are still a lot of rigs out there with Iota's, not sure which manufacturers had recalls and those that did fixed the problem.

Also this thread about Monaco coaches, but it is about Navistar coaches so earlier Monaco aren't included but do have the Iota transfer switch.

One of the posts has the recall and states the buss bars may not be able to handle the load so the whole thing needs to be replaces.

I just replaced the transfer switch in our 2008 Fleetwood Expedition with this from MomaZon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009LFZZFK?ref=fed_asin_title

The only thing that was slightly different is the access holes on this are on 3 sides at one end. The original had holes on each end. Just had to get a little slack in the wires and spin the new unit slightly from the "perfect" front to back orientation. Really an easy job.

I also believe this was the case as well. When we purchased our coach about 5 years ago there were many posts about the Iota 50 amp transfer switch being a fire hazard. I was perplexed after using their excellent Iota converters over a couple of decades of RVing and having a 50 amp Iota transfer switch on our 50 amp fifth wheel.

We had never heard about the issue before purchasing our class A 5 years ago, although I did inspect Iota transfer switch prior to purchasing as part of my inspection before buying. After we returned home from purchasing motorhome from private seller in TX, I got online to do some research on the class A we just bought and first read about Iota TS.

We purchased a LPT50BRD 50A TS a couple months after acquiring our coach and decided to start prepping to swap out Iota transfer switch. I removed TS cover and found none of the reported issues after intense photo and video scrutiny. I properly retorqued all connections, that was 4.5 years ago and 60+ trips, LPT50BRD 50A TS is still in shipping box.
