"I believe the recall was specific to RV manufacturers that used the wrong amount of torque (not enough) on the wire hold down screws. The Iota product itself was not affected by the recall and was OK when proper torque was applied."
I also believe this was the case as well. When we purchased our coach about 5 years ago there were many posts about the Iota 50 amp transfer switch being a fire hazard. I was perplexed after using their excellent Iota converters over a couple of decades of RVing and having a 50 amp Iota transfer switch on our 50 amp fifth wheel.
We had never heard about the issue before purchasing our class A 5 years ago, although I did inspect Iota transfer switch prior to purchasing as part of my inspection before buying. After we returned home from purchasing motorhome from private seller in TX, I got online to do some research on the class A we just bought and first read about Iota TS.
We purchased a LPT50BRD 50A TS a couple months after acquiring our coach and decided to start prepping to swap out Iota transfer switch. I removed TS cover and found none of the reported issues after intense photo and video scrutiny. I properly retorqued all connections, that was 4.5 years ago and 60+ trips, LPT50BRD 50A TS is still in shipping box.
