Jacks down
2006 National Sea Breeze 34' 8321 WH chassis, 27K miles, stored inside. Finally got the chance to get the coach ready for summer. Spent last two days deep cleaning, antifreeze out and water in, etc. Coach is in my driveway. This am 2 issues; Bedroom slide would not retract, removed switch panel to inspect switch, removed the yellow close lead, replaced started working. The leveling jacks will not retract. Batteries are charged, turned coach power switch off and disconnected the negative lead to the batteries. Which I have not connected at this point. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check your fuses in front in the engine compartment.

What type of leveling system do you have? If there are springs its possible they need to be replaced. Most older systems are one way hydraulics meaning they only power down. Place them in the retract position and see if you can pry up on the jack pad. If it goes up the springs are the problem, If not the retract solenoid's are not opening. You do need to have 12volt power for the solenoids to work.

The levelers require power from both batteries engine/ chassis and house/coach.
Both need to be on, parking brake set and in park

Will do. Also, when I initiate procedure to retract when I hit the retract jacks , the “wait jacks down “ light comes on I have power to the jack panel.

Also, when I initiate retracting the jacks, set parking break, and turn ignition on. When the retract button is depressed the jacks do noting but the jacks down wait light comes on.

Richard thanks for your reply, I have never started the engine, the manual indicates that the purpose of the jacks down wait highlight is so that the coach cannot be moved,
with the the jacks down.

the control panel gets power from the house batteries and the hydraulic pump motor gets power from the chassis battery. You can start the engine with jacks down, if you release the parking brake or put the transmission in gear the jacks should automatically retract.

My last trip started this way. I prepped everything and when it was time to go all four HWH jacks would not retract. They would extend but not retract. Some quick googling turned up a work around of removing a check valve from the hydraulic manifold and I was on my way. The source of the problem was a stuck shuttle valve in the manifold which I removed and cleaned. The problem has not yet returned but perhaps a new shuttle valve is now in order.
Good Luck.

We had an issue with jacks not retracting the other month when going on or Memorial Day Trip. I place the MH beside the carport, dropped the jacks so we could run the fridge. We went to leave two days later and nothing. We searched and searched and could not find a problem. We ended up cracking the lines and release fluid to raise the jacks to go. We went to leave and the jack down light was flashing and beeping, but the control pad wouldn't turn on.
We finally found the computer control in the access panel on the dash above the steering wheel. We unplugged and replugged all connections, and all has been fine since then.

Only my left side HWH jacks won’t retract. I have to use either a couple long 2x4’s or my tow car’s jack to get them back up. Complete pain in the butt!

I have a similar problem. Read some place on iRV2 about spraying silicone on cylinders when extended. Today they came up without issue!
