jacks or no jacks

Do you need to put the jacks down if you are on a level grassy site?

Not if you don't want to. They usually provide stability over not having them down though. You might feel a little rocking as you walk around inside. It might be a little more noticeable if you have slides extended too... not sure.

I might not if I were in it by myself. Otherwise, I can feel it when the dogs are moving around, let alone the DW. I would put them down for that reason if for no other.

Usually the only time we put jacks down is if we need to level the RV a bit. Without the jacks down you will have some movement in the RV. We lived on a sailboat for 12 years so the little motion does not bother us but when our son and his family visit we have to put down the jacks for stability. His wife has a problem with any movement.

If I put out slides the jacks come down first.

There is no "need" to put them down. You maybe more comfortable with them down. I've been having trouble with mine so for the the last three weeks camping, in several different areas, I have not deployed them. Once I get a reliable fix I'll start using them again.

They are there - that is what they are for - use them. Use mine all the time.

If you don't use them every time, the one time you need them they won't work - isn't that a rule of rving?
