Bought a new 2020 Precept. Any body got any info good or bad . I would appreciate it.

Which model did you buy, and what kind of information are you looking for ?
We have a Precept Prestige 36U and are very happy with it, although we will be trading up to a diesel later this summer due to the amount of weight we would like to tow.
We had two very small issues when new, otherwise it has been an excellent coach.

We were happy with the quality with the grey hawk. Is why we bought another Jayco.

What kind of research did you do before you bought it and what did you find? At this point, all we can do is give you validation or scare the bujeebers out of you.

Naw, actually some owners will chime in with things to be aware of and prepare for.

This video is of a Precept crash late last year although I do not know what model year. The takeaway to me is what got damaged, what held together and how nearby traffic impacted his ability to react. The driver was the sole occupant.

He had high-speed cameras installed because they were testing a new solar product so it's not typical dashcam quality.

Because the driver caught so much flak from people saying he was driving dangerously he re-did the video with a detailed analysis of speed, distances and visibility. That video is here:

The analysis shows how fast the situation fell apart.

I'm only mentioning this because coincidentally it is a Precept. There's good lessons in his analysis for everyone.

We bought a 2020 PRECIPT 34G. We have driven over 2,000 mile and are very pleased with our choice. Our previous RV was a 2019 Class C Redhawk.

We also bought the Precept....2020 34G.
Any motorhome could have sustained the same damage.

Sorry for the loss, glad you survived and nobody seems to have been hurt.

We have a '16 35S. 4 years 12,000 miles and no complaints. PS, there is a Jayco Precept and Alante Facebook page with 1000 members there.

I am looking to share knowledge as time goes on on issues that come up which when shared allows others to possibly catch it on their unit and head off a breakdown.ect

We moved up/down from a 2015 41 ft. front living room 5th wheel to this 38 ft. gas MH because we could no longer tolerate the 'chucking' towing the 5th wheel...horrible. We have had the Precept for about a year now and so far our trips have been on fairly flat highway towing my wife's small Equinox. We have heard stories from one end of the spectrum to the other about what to expect. One owner told us we will conquer mountain climbs no issue and yet another warned us that we would be down to 30 mph and struggling. Gas consumption is not great but if you can't afford to play you should not be. Black water tank systems showing levels are useless just like our first two RVs. Slide topper banged all night last night right over the head of our bed during 30-45 mph wind gusts. Entrance door is nowhere near airtight...nice breeze around it. MH wobbles when people walk around inside so I will buy those snap/pad things...apparently that eliminates the wobble. I could go on but there are so many positive things also that offset the negatives. We are looking forward to our travels and meeting with many of the great people on this forum. Congrats on the new Precept....and Merry Christmas.

Over 22,000 miles on our 17 35S. All problems initially covered to our total satisfaction w/2 yr. warranty. Changed sofa to powered reclining, massage, heated theater seats, replaced living TV w/smart, put lifts on all compartment doors, added lambrequins in master, tiled full kitchen and bath back walls. Added necessary niceties and accessories, including custom mattress and looking forward to next 22,000+!

We just bought a used 2020 Precept 31UL with 6500 miles. We've only put 400 miles on the first shake out trip. We checked around as best we could before purchasing and found that in general Jayco's appeared to have a pretty good reputation.
