Just another TPMS question.
Hello all you fine knowledgeable folks in IRV2 land.
I'm at my witts end trying to get my EEZTire monitor to work properly. I've had it for about 5 years and have had constant problems with it picking up the rear tires. Especially since we upgraded our motor home.
So I bought a booster figuring that would fix the problem. It did help some.
What I did was extend the wiring for the booster so I could plug it into the power port in our bedroom then put it on the bed. It's right above the rear axles about 4 feet away from the tires. It does help pick up the sensors quicker but once I get on the road I start loosing the rear readings. If I stop, it will pick them up again then after some travel they go away.
I've changed batteries so many times I should by stock in a battery company.
Should I move the sensors closer to the wheels? I can extend the wires more and set the booster on the floor in front of the bed?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'm to the point of buying a different brand of TPMS.

I have the TST brand and it doesn’t even have problems picking up toad.

I have a TST system. I used it on our fifth wheel and now on out Class A. Never, but once dropped a sensor. I needed to replace the batteries.

I have EEZtire.
Mine works pretty good on my 45 ft motorhome rear tires without the booster. I use the booster in the rear of the coach to pick up the toad tires.
Without the booster the toad will be inconsistent or just out of range.
Your booster has to be able to talk to your main control unit. Each tire sensor will talk to either your control unit directly or via the booster automatically.
Tire sensor batteries last a couple of years depending on how often you are rolling.
I expect you are getting electrical signal interference.
Try moving your control unit to the bedroom and see if everything works.
That might help you isolate. If your front tires are working then I suspect your system is working. I think the sensors all use about a 400 MHz signal. They just send the data in a super short burst but if something else is generating noise at the freq they use it can cause issue.
I have not used them but I have heard EEZtire has good tech support.
Good Luck

When I first installed my TST system, I was having similar issues. It would work fine and then drop out the rears while driving. It was a 40' coach, and I wasn't using toad sensors. Initially, TST told me that things like remote Indoor/Outdoor thermostats could cause interference. I removed the batteries from my thermostat on one trip and had the same issue.
I bought TST's repeater and installed it in the last bay on the passenger side. On a Freightliner, that's the chassis battery bay. I know many people worry about turning the repeaters on and off, but it's a solid-state unit and doesn't draw any significant power. I leave mine connected to the battery with a fuse and it stays on 24/7/365. We RV all year, so I would only disconnect it if my coach got winterized. I later added sensors to my toad and have had no issues.
You should try yours outside in a rear bay behind the rear axle.

I had a problem once with one of the rear sensors. Tried the booster that I had purchased originally with the unit. No help.
Called EEZTire and they suggested to re-program the sensor. That worked and no problems since.

We have found that the position of the main display unit makes a big difference for us. When mounted to the right of the steering wheel we got poor reading performance. Mounting closer to the drivers window side seemed to make a big difference.

Try it n a rear bay storage area. I have my TST repeater in the very back LR compartment. And it never loses any of my sensors including the toad.

I mounted our booster on the inside wall of the house battery compartment and then wired it directly to a positive post. Worked great.

Thank you all for your help. I originally had my monitor to the left of the steering wheel and had these issues.
So I moved the monitor to the right of the steering wheel and no difference. I never have problems picking up the front tires just the rear.
I figured that a booster would help and it does on initial start up. It's when I start moving down the road that the rears will drop out.
Thing is if I stop to take a leak or something else they pick up again.
The only thing that I can think of is to move the booster closer to the tires. But that might be a month or more down the road before I can get around to it.
I was ready to toss it in the trash and buy a new one but I'll keep tinkering with this one for now.
Just to be sure I'm setting up the system properly, I turn on the monitor first then turn on the booster correct???

Mayby the house power switches off when driving.
You can test it with a lamp connected there, and see if it goes off when you drive.

According to the Instruction Manual, it makes no difference. Just make sure you have power there while driving.

We have EEZtire unit with a remote booster mounted outside on frame of rear clothes closet. Has a separate fuse & is spliced for 12V power into the closet light. It also has a light to indicate working or off visible from front. Front main display reads the toad anyways (without it) but assures better signal.

I have had the TST510 system for probably more than 10 years, and it has worked well for us. The wheel sensors do no have replaceable batteries, so replacing the sensors was required after 5 or so years. I'm going to replace the system this year, probably with TST507, but still considering options.
I have had the repeater installed almost from the beginning, as I also had sensors on the Jeep toad. What I did, and it has worked well, was to install the repeater in the cabinet above the washer/dryer. The cabinet is where the switch for the domestic water heater is located, so I installed a switch for the repeater right next to it.
When I leave for a trip, I turn on the repeater. When we get home after a trip, since we keep the coach on shore power while in the motorhome garage, I don't want to forget turning off the water heater, and when I check that it is off, I'll also turn off the repeater.
The only nit I really have had with the TST510 system is that the display doesn't read sensor pressure until the RV is in motion. I want to know the tire pressures BEFORE we depart for a trip. I don't know if the new TST systems are the same, or will they read before rolling?
