Just bought a 2006? Gulfstream Friendship G7

I am a little confused. I just bought my first motorhome it is a Gulfstream Friendship G7 model 8408. According to Gulfstream it is a 2006 but the vin number shows it is a 2005. Gulfstream says its because they did not build it out until late 2005 which makes it a 2006 Model, however NADA does not show a 8408 for 2005. Any idea? Also anyone out there familar with Gulfstream Friendships? For the price it was a no brainer with a Cummins 400 diesel and only 19k miles. Bought it to start tailgating around the country.
Thanks. Living for Him, Bruce

Congratulations on your new motorhome. The vin number starts with the chassis so they bought the chassis and stored it until they were ready to build the coach. Get the motor number and call Cummins and they can tell you when they built the engine. Ask them if there are any open campaigns on the engine and ask them what the warranty history is. Do the same thing with the transmission. You might also have samples of the oil and trans fluid taken and sent out for testing. Have fun with it! We are currently at the beach enjoying ours!

Look at it this way, you have a 2005 chassis under a 2006 RV. Only time it comes up is at DMV registration and getting parts. For the rest of the time, it's a '06.
