Kenwood DNX775RVS - Missing features?

I a hoping I am missing something obvious on my new Kenwood DNX775RVS stereo in relation to the on board Garmin GPS.

My factory stereo failed and was just replaced with this model. The original stereo did not have an on board GPS so I kept a Garmin RV760 mounted on my dash. I have used the 760 for 7 years and found it to be a great device. Outside of the actual route planning, I found the most important features were the "Up Ahead" displays. In particular I used the Fuel stops and rest stops along my route. They were displayed as a side panel showing how far away the nearest stop was and by clicking on them I could get a list of all of my available "Up Ahead" fuel and rest stops. Being able to tell my Bride that the next rest stop is in xx miles is exceptionally valuable.

So far in looking at the new 775 I have not been able to locate a comparable feature. There is a next exit function... but you have to pull that up instead of having it present on the screen.

Am I missing something or is this a colossal fail by Garmin?

I haven't found anything like that with my 775 either after a couple years of use, although right now it's due for a map update.

Thanks for the reply. That at least tells me I am not suffering from my standard Male Pattern Blindness!

I am dumbfounded why they would remove a successful feature from their programming.

I know mine is different and I haven't tried this......but in the DNX994 instructions, it says go to Apps and select Fuel. It will then connect and give you fuel locations.

The 775 has a similar feature, but that requires manipulation while driving and from what I can tell does a radius search rather then stops on the route

Yeah.....I never used it. We use the Kenwood GPS and when we need fuel or looking for another path, I have a Rand McNally mounted next to my wife's seat. She'll either use Gas Buddy or look up another route on her GPS unit. When looking for diesel and using the EFS fuel card, there are a couple of APPS that show all the stations along the route, but I have to look them up ahead of time.

If my recollection is correct 760 is last true GPS in that line up and not gps running on android device/mini tablet and next ones missed some features as well as early comparably issues other Garmin programs like base camp. When I was shopping I was wondering why refurbished 760s were as or more expensive as few models later/higher . Not sure I was of any help at all.

That makes sense. Guess I am keeping the 760 on the dash after all and taking good care of it!
