Koni evo shocks

I just found a source for these for my F53 chassis at a good price. What a difference in both the ride and control. Unbelievable!!!

Agree. The Koni EVO shocks, sumo springs, and reduced tire psi gives a great improvement in the ride.

Putting the Komi Evos on my Dutch Star (front) was the best money I’ve spent on the coach.

I had them installed last summer and was impressed with the improvement with both ride and leaning.

Will any of you that chose the EVO over the FSD shock share the reason for that choice? I think I would choose the FSD shock for my upgrade.

I am swapping the factory installed Koni FSDs on my 2022 Tiffin Allegro Bus 40IP to EVOs when I get back home in April. The EVOs are much more robust. I run 16,000 lbs on the front axle and need more rebound control.

EVO can FSD

The claim to fame with the FSD was ride comfort. On some chassis they didn’t provide the solid control like the Bilsteins. Koni then went back to the drawing board and came out with the EVO. Guess it evolved from the FSD bypass valve smooth ride technology with more control and a higher price tag.

Just replaced my OEM shocks at 14,000 miles on my OpenRoad 32SA and they were shot. Put KONI EVO shocks on all the way around. Haven't driven it yet but looking foward to first trip this year.

I have a 20 year old Country Coach with Koni shocks on it - probably original, so whatever the model would have been back then. I took my motorhome to a well-respected truck and motorhome chassis / suspension shop complaining about the ride and the ONLY suggestion they made was to install Motion Control valves on the rear bags. I couldn't twist their arm into selling me new shocks, at least not that day. What do you all say? 20 year old Koni tech, vs Koni Evo 99s? I bought the motion control valves and I will say that it helped tremendously, but not enough. I still want to dial it in some more.

I went ahead and ordered and replaced the Koni FSD shocks with the Koni EVOs on my 2022 Tiffin 40IP.

I have put over 1,000 miles on the coach since i replaced them two weeks ago. They have considerably more rebound and compression control without any loss of ride quality.

They were $600 total delivered. I did the install myself. My advice to you is to spend the money. Your 20 year old shocks are worn out to some extent. The Evos will help. Will they get you all the improvement you want? - only one way to find out.

What year and model is it? Ridewell, Reyco, or Neway suspension?

On the Freightliner chassis with IFS, they don't offer the FSD for the front, only the old Koni RED and then eventually the EVO. The EVO was produced in a shorter shock that would fit the IFS front ends. On my Freightliner(s) I installed EVO's on the front and FSD's on the rear. If you look on their website under Freightliner XC chassis, they offer just the EVO for the front and FSD for the rear.

No matter what you choose......I replaced the shocks on both of my new Dutch Stars within months of purchase. A much better ride experience. Tire pressure adjustment and Centramatics completed the refinement.
