Kwikee model 42 steps rubbing

I am refurbishing our entry steps. I will be removing them from the coach, sanding and painting, and replacing at least the bottom slides. I got the part information from Gruse on a thread a few years back: Ryadon 2250 Series 250lb full extension 12" for the top, and 3300 Series 500lb full extension 22" for the bottom.

My problem is when they are moving, the top step droops and the edge rubs on the top of the bottom step. I do not see any adjustments on the top step height. My thought is either the unit is bent somewhere, or the top slides are not quite flat anymore, so the play is allowing the top step to droop.

I could use a car jack to try to lift (bend) the top step upward now, and then pull them and replace the bottom slides, or simply replace both slides and hope for the best.

First pic is fully extended, and OK, second is in motion and rubbing.

Has anyone had this issue and fixed it? Thanks!

Steve this is the best I have to offer: Kwikee Products Service Training Manual

The steps have plastic bushings that wear out and cause problems if not replaced.

Thanks, I have that as well. I do see some play in the upper slides when the stairs are in motion. I will replace both slides and report back.
