Ladder mount pulled out

Thanks in advance, This is on out 2016 Forest River Legacy. I am not the smallest guy and I am sure at the weight limit of the factory ladder on the back. The bottom right mount has pulled out and I have no idea how to fix it. It almost looks like there is a threaded rod inside the tube that the nut pulled off of.

Any input on how to fix it would be great

I would go to West Marine Store or Amazon and look at their selection of Stanchion Fittings, Usually 1" tube diameter.

I suspect the jam washers broke. You will need to take the base off the MH to thread the new ones onto that bolt/screw. There should be 2.

Thanks for that. I tried searching but did not find other posts. That other post actually had a link to a supplier that has replacement parts and I can fix this issue for $10.

Adding the link here for RV ladder replacement parts.

Those are the same type nuts used in bicycle headsets, they're bullet proof.

How far do you push them into the tube and how do you push them in the tube?

You have to remove the ladder from the side of the coach. You can then take the loose bracket off. You have to get the old jamb washer out or if there is enough room push it back out of the way. The new jamb washer has to be pushed and/or hammered back into the tubing, remove the screw, attach the old bracket, and then reattach the whole ladder back to the side of the coach.
