Ladder recommendations

Currently have a GP Logistics 6' compact ladder. Looking for better stability and more reach. Stored in pass thru.

What ladder are you carrying in your motorcoach that you would buy again?
Thanks! Mark

I have the seven foot version of that ladder and find it's pretty stable. Are you locking the bottom red levers once you unfold it? I used mine for a long time and thought it was unsteady until I realized I was supposed to lock the legs.

Same here with the 7 foot. Lock the tabs and it's pretty stable for me.

I carry that ladder also, but I find I use the 12" telescoping ladder more and it will get me on top of the coach easily.

I have it as well, along with it's optional top shelf, which extends your reach by one more step. Made the mistake of buying a 6 footer first - sold that to someone that couldn't fit anything bigger. You just need to make sure the ground is solid underneath, or use a piece of plywood if not.

I'd love a little Giant, but it takes too much room.

Good point about the 7 ft. version. I'm leaning out near the top with the 6 Ft. too often and it flexes some when you do that. Thanks

We have a ladder on the back to get on the foot. But, I have the 7' version of that same ladder for everything else. I would not want to be without it.

"tarheel21"......Here is a little secret with the ladder you currently have ( I have the 7'). Step up onto the first rung with both feet. Grab the upper half with both hands and physically tweek "walk" the other side of the ladder with your body, until the two feet on the opposite side, are both flat on the ground. Once you do this, you'll find that ladder very stable. If yo climb it with one leg off the ground it's very unstable. I'm 6'2" and a touch over 300 pounds. I'll climb my 7' to the second from the top rung to do my windshield.

Xtend and Climb 785p, works great to get up to roof level anywhere around the perimeter of the coach. This is a 15.5 ft ladder, which allows for safe roof access by extending well above the roof line, if I just needed to reach, but not climb on the roof I would opt for the slightly shorter / 5 pound lighter 12.5 ft 780p. This is a much better more sturdy ladder than the cheaper light weight extending ladders.

LOVE this one. https://www.walmart.com/ip/12-5ft-Al...city/269665886

It collapses very small and is lighter than the Harbor Freight extension only ladders. Love that it can be extension or step type.

After a trip thru Texas when I carried too small of ladder to safely reach a slide topper that had billowed out like an air foil in high winds, I now have a Warner folding ladder, about 15’. Not the lightest but it works.

I can verify it works because on the next trip, that same stupid slide topper said good bye to the one screw holding it in the bracket and in the middle of Teddy Roosevelt National Park, I was up on the ladder lashing the topper in place with paracord.

When we went to the closest hardware store I could find, I bought screws, a pack of square head bits (I had some at home, but of course not the rig), and was up in the ladder again in the Ace Hardware parking lot.

Net: get a ladder big enough to safely reach the top of rig and be able to “work,” make sure you can easily access it and its easy to use.

I love RVing, not all that happy with Carefree and Thor for picking them.
