We used a broker and ended up with a company that wasn't even on my radar; Safeco.

Use a broker.

Not sure which companies operate in Texas. In North Carolina, I (still licensed to sell it but not appointed with companies at the moment) have quoted Foremost as well as Progressive. Have Progressive on my motor coach.

In Texas, Geico cut my rate in half this past year. And it's the Berkshire Hathaway company.

Leads on Motorhome Insurance

Just switched all my vehicles to Geico after 22+ loyal years with State Farm. After we bought our '12 Winnebago Tour last month State Farm more than doubled our rate to $2150/ year from my '07 Holiday Rambler. I about fell on the floor. Went shopping and found Geico could cover all 5 of my vehicles for about half of what State Farm wanted. My State Farm agent tried to sell me on all the benefits I was receiving as a long time customer with no claims, but it was hard for him to argue a savings of over 50%. Geico's been around a long time. I hope I don't regret the switch.

I found Farm & City Insurance to have the lowest rates when I got my current coach. My old coach was insured with Blue Sky RV, which was the lowest at that time. Get quotes from all of them and make sure you are comparing "apples and apples" with the same coverages.
