Leak in LP Tank Fill Hose

I have a leak in the flexible hose that runs between the frame mounted fill connection and the tank. It shows up when you begin filling the tank. The hose is about 18” long, braided rubber to handle high pressure I assume.
I’ve tried to search for it on line but I’m not finding this exact hose material because I don’t know the “formal” name for it.
Has anyone repaired or replaced this hose and if so, where did you get it?

LP pressure is between 100 and 200 PSI. The tank will relieve pressure over 200 PSI. Most quality nylon braided hoses should be good for around 350 PSI.

Goggle 'hydraulic hose shop' in town/city where you are/will be
Remove hose and take it to shop
Have a new High Pressure LP hose with correct fittings made (350psi) and being a Fill hose most likely 3/4" male/female threads (MNPT/FNPT)

LP Tank relief valves are typically set for 250 Psi to 275 psi depending on spring rating

Here is a number for your local lp dealer. I bet they could at least send you in the right direction. Good luck,
Tom

Just go to a full service LP dealer. They will be able to match the hose you have either by ordering it directly or making up one for you. DO NOT try to replace it with a common, braided high pressure hose. Your replacement MUST be high pressure LP rated with swedged connections.

I have never seen a tank that could be filled through a hose, I'd like to see a picture of it. Am I missing something here?

Some RVs mount the tank inside the chassis rails and use remote fill and bleeder fittings.
The hose runs between the tank and fill panel.

You may want to take a close look at the smaller hose to the bleeder valve.

They are both the same age and the bleeder hose is always under pressure.

To change that, you need to shut off the small valve at the tank, where the bleeder hose connects. It might have a slot for a screwdriver, instead of a handle. If there is no valve, you will need to empty the tank first.

Most napa auto parts stores can make any hose you need. Bring the old one in the door, leave with a new one

My NAPA is in a farm area and I have been using them for years for farm hoses but they CAN NOT furnish LP rated hoses. Check closely.
