Arrow leaking hose - Antifreeze in a Cat holds 35 Q

Early this morning headed up rt 187 in TX I get a low water lite, check & see a drip traced to the top hose rubbing on a metal bracket.

This hose is about 4' long and special $120 model from Freightliner, of course closed in Wichta Falls.

I added water closely watch the temps limped into a Flying Jay, jumped in my car and found a Parts place opened found a 2" OD muffler piece about a 12" long, with 4 clamps. Cut the hose and point of the hole cut the coil spring slipped the pipe in so far so good drove 250 miles to Amarillo everything is good.

There is a FL dealer nearby the Walmart I'm in now which I'll see if he has the hose which I doubt, but I can get it delivered somewhere at another FL dealer along my route.

Question is now that I need to refill the sysytem what types are good & not so good, I see Prestone at Walmart along with distilled water to make up a 50/50 mix.

What is the deal with antifreeze (I have 3126 Cat)

.

Your Cat can use

Alliance ALAWS3
DD Powercool 50/50
Fleetcharge FCA053

and maybe some others, but those are the three I jotted down per Freightliner advice. My experience is that you will most easily find one of these at a truck stop or truck repair place. I haven't had success at Wally World.

I use Fleet Charge mixed 50/50 with distilled water in my 3126. That's what tech support at Gaffney recommended. I buy it at Tractor Supply.
