Lol or the 100k plus depreciation I took on mine. I wish I kept my gasser and had the money to be honest.

Well I understand the call sign Crabby Jerry. I do appreciate you and those like you however. I like to buy slightly used and let you guys pay for that depreciation. If the Wife doesn't want to sleep on someone else s mattress, I just buy a new mattress.

Poor OP wants some advice about moving from a fiver to a MH and some of you guys are arguing about how quiet your DP is. Shame, Shame.

First I would be careful going from a forty foot fifth wheel to a 36 foot MH. Even going to a same length MH forty feet. you will have less living room because as everybody knows the drivers/passenger seat have to go somewhere. So be careful not to get too much smaller after being used to a forty foot fiver.

All of the MH's we had over the years (since the early eighties) were all gas coaches. Why? Because I prefer gas over diesel? hahahohehe...NO! Because I was never able to afford a DP. I could get all the coach I wanted or needed without taking a much bigger bite to get into the DP. Last month when we bought a new to us MH, even though I now can afford a DP, I didn't do it because the gasser is just fine for our needs at this time and much easier on the budget. Plus the maintenance is much cheaper. Now the Newmar MA we just bought is the quietest MH I have ever owned. Even though the engine is between us we can talk and hear just fine and at idle we can not even hear the V 10 running.
So Jac, good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks to all who have offered advice. RV show time is here with a local show in Atlanta next weekend, and then the big Tampa RV super show that DW and I will be attending. Should be a great opportunity for us to get into a lot of viable candidates and narrow the field!

We are on our fourth MH. Started with a 34; gas. Moved up to a 40 DP them 43', now have a 45' DP

My opinion is the bigger they are the better they drive.
