Michelin are usually at least 250$ PT more than other good comparable tires
so 1500$ more on six so Michelin are not in my world and the last set were terrible sidewall crackers which seem to have been a major Michelin issue

I have had such good service from all of the Michelin tires I have bought over the years that I'm not interested is trying something else just to save a few hundred dollars. Mine are 3 1/2 years old with 37,000 miles and will probably replace them in 4 years with another set of Michelins.

great and good for you;; I on the other hand as said feel saving $2000 on a set of 8 tires is rather prudent plus the continental or toyo tires are as good and or better than Michelin. I worked hard for my money and am not about to feed the Michelin people

You look at it as a $2000 difference while I see it as 2.5 cents per mile for the peace of mind Michelin has given me over the years.

If it was a far superior product I may agree but in my world its apples to apples and the 2K is better off in my pocket than some Michelin executive
2.5 cents based on how many miles? 37000 miles is 5.4 cents

Do the math. When I replace the tires in 4 1/2 years, they will have 80,000 miles on them.

I did and it says I will be 2K richer than you with the same quality of tire on my rig

Less Expensive Tires
A financial perspective:
If your tires cost $3000, replacing them at 7 years means the amortized cost was $36/month.
My Michelins would be double that. And I'm good with that!

I was gonna make that very same point. Not sure I want to be running around with tires that have 80K on them. Don't care what brand it is.

You are joking, right?? @ 80,000 miles, there will still be at least 40% of the safe tread left on the XZA2 Michelin tires. What's unsafe about that??

40% after 80K miles LOL at that ideal I had42K on my 02 bus and they had like 5% left

Not kidding at all. I wouldn't run tires that long on a farm truck. Certainly not gonna chance them on a vehicle that is considerably more expensive and likely easier to tear up.
To each his own, it's just not for me. Don't care what brand it is.

We run Hankook on almost all of our fleet of 80 cranes. Best decision we made was to start using them.
