Leveling jack question - Hurricane 30q

Question - I bought a Hurricane 30q last year and have been renovating.

I noticed there are leveling jacks but no control system.

I assume this was an option that was not installed.

Can I purchase the control system and hook it up? I trace the wires and there is a shielded wire with 5 small wires inside that track back to the leveling jacks.

Another question - if these have sat for 18 years unused, is it highly likely they are junk at this point?

Can you provide a picture of the jacks? Leveling jacks were an option on that rig. It's possible that it was installed an someone removed the controller and touch pad. I saw one on the internet that had the touchpad attached in a wood box to the drivers side below the side window.

I don't know what shape your coach was in when you purchased ; BUT ; considering the cost of jacks and installation labor , there was a full system in place ; someone removed part of it .

Can you post pictures of what you do have and maybe a member can help with where to look for wiring and hook up to complete the system.

EDIT : I see Harry posted while I was typing ; sorry about the duplication.

The first step is determining the make and model # of the jack system. If is hydraulic it's likely HWH brand and there will be a sticker on each component with it's model#, usually 2 letters followed by 5 or 6 numbers.
If the leveling system is electric it's likely Lippert.

This is the only thing I can find about a leveling system on a 200X hurricane.

Looks like a Bigfoot touchpad

HWH; Kick down jacks .
PO might have had issues that he thought made the system beyond economical repair , if the reservoir / pump and distribution manifold are gone as well as the control pad ; that may well be the case.

So the jacks all push down by hand. Now what?

The reservoir/pump/manifold are there. Is it possible to hot wire this to see if the mechanism works?

Sure, find the pump and apply 12VDC to the power lug. The pump only runs to extend the jacks, so, if it actually works, you'll have to have the procedures to retract them as well.

Here's a pdf on identifying the older systems ; with out the control pad this could be a challenge .

If you can get a series number , for the system , once the HWH site is back up maybe we can get you an owners manual , and start from there .

I have about 10 different owners manuals for HWH systems , I'll look through for a likely one.

Ok , from the area you've shown in one picture online , I'm pretty sure what should be in the recess was a set of " Joy Stick " leveling controls , that would make the system a Series 210 .
If you can post a picture with the plate removed we could be sure , and check under the floor for hydraulic hoses .

If there is any fluid left in the tank and he hotwires the pump and it works he'll find out if there's hydraulic lines under the floor, just follow the drips.

sorry that's mean, but true
