Lighting control module
I have a 2017 Newmar MountainAire and have to replace a KIB lighting control module which Newmar says is under the dash. I removed the glove box but cannot see the module. Does anyone know how to access it?

Did they tell you what to look for? What it looks like? In a New Aire the KIB brain looks like this:

You may have better luck finding someone who has an ‘18 Mountain Aire in the Newmar forum.
In my ‘19 Ventana there are several KIB modules throughout the coach. Under the dash, in the basement, etc. and the main unit in the half bath.

What exactly are you looking for? The KIB control board that controls the lights and shades is located in the rear closet and is pictured in the above post. There are also various KIB modules sprinkled throughout the coach. What is the problem that your trying to fix? For instance, there’s a KIB module behind the instrument cluster so that when the Trimark lock unit unlocks the door or the entrance door is opened the cockpit locks turn on.

Lighting control module
I have the replacement part with me so I know what it looks like and, yes, it is the module that controls the cockpit lights and the stairway entrance lights.

Newmar doesn't always place it exactly where they say. On my DS, it was behind the dash, accessed by removing the panel above the dash.
Side Note:.....That KIB unit turns on the two cockpit lights and step lights when the door is opened or closed. It has a timer that turns them off after, I believe, 30 seconds. On my previous DS, I cut the power wire and added a switch. I wired it from the module to a blank switch location on the dash. This allowed me to turn the unit off. There are often times, like late at night that you may want the front of the coach to light up.

If you click on my username you’ll see my coach info. It’s a 2018 Mountain Aire.

Thanks. Newmar confirmed it is located behind the instrument panel low in the right side. I will replace it today.
