Lippert Leveling System - How to get jacks down without Air Dump
Hello All,
Does anyone know how to put Lippert jacks down without dumping the air bag? This system is on a 2014 Winnebago Tour 42QD. Manual Leveling, immediately dumps the air.
I need to get under the MH to install a Brakemaster air line and just want that extra support instead of using Jack Stands.
Thanks in advance.

Never get under an RV with just air and / or leveling jacks...that's an easy way to get killed.
Always use jack stands (and ones rated for the task) and / or cribbage (blocks of wood) before getting underneath.
Harbour Freight has some strong ones for $99 a pair. Well worth your life.
There are too many things that go wrong with the complexities of air suspension and leveling jacks to rely upon them. And not to mention you intend on working on pieces of the the RV and can surely knock a wire connector, break a hose etc while doing your service work.

Thank you for the welcome and safety message, I appreciate it and totally agree, I did use jack stands. Still would like to see if anyone knows how to do this with the Lippert System. I was able to do this on my old coach since it had a manual air dump.
Thanks again.

If you don't have a suitable surface to support jack stands, I use ramps made from layers of 2x12s

Ditto on the lumber ramps - in 3 years of use I've not seen / heard of a way to do what you're asking ...

I just saw a forum post where a company has a switch to temporarily move the air suspension up / down. Since their product was to raise / lower the coach while driving (so as not to hit the tail on driveways et al) not sure if they hacked the leveling system as well.
Can't remember their name...starts with an "S"...
I am sure there is a way...just don't recommend it at all.

Sorry - that will not work. In either case of leveling, manual or auto, the air will dump.
Only advantage of the manual I have observed is the coach will be lower when leveling using manual. If you want to have the coach higher use auto or simply keep raising it to the desired height on manual.
I would be really reluctant to crawl under the coach using the leveling system for jack stands. If something goes wrong while you are under there who you going to call? I have a bunch of used plywood sheets that I drive the coach onto whenever working underneath. Just peace of mind.
Our coach has an option to adjust the air. It is one of the options you can scroll to using the control pad. Have not used it to date and the coach is not here to check out. Should be in the manual.

Thanks for all the ideas and feedback on this, I appreciate it. To clarify, I'm not trying to raise the MH using the levelers. They were just in case the air dumped as a fail-safe. I like the idea of driving on the 2x12s to raise the chassis to get more room underneath. I think I'll get 2 sets of 12 ton jack stands or 4 each 8 ton bottle jacks just as a fail-safe and not depend on the Lippert Levelers as a fail-safe. Of course I will block the tires too.
Again, thanks for all the help, Safety First...

Driving up the 2x12's and putting the 12 ton jack stands tight underneath the frame is the right way.
I wouldn't use bottle jacks other than to lift to make room for the jack stands.
BTW, just saw an ad for that "S" company on this site...forgot their name again...Specialty Engineering or something like that.
we all feel better now
