Living room slide problem

Went to put out living room slide & it only went half way & stopped. Tried again & nothing. Engine was running, emergency brake on & batteries showed a charge of 13.689V. Tried putting out bedroom slide & that went out with no problem, but a bit slow! Went & tried the living room slide again & it went out the rest of the way????? IWe were hooked up to AC for the night & I thought maybe the batteries needed charging. Left the MH plugged into AC, started the engine & hit the switch to put the living room slide in & again it stopped half way. I then put the bedroom slide in with no problem. Went back to the living room slide & it went in the rest of the way. So, for the rest of the trip we will leave the living room slide in until we reach our final destination. The living room slide is clear & there is no binding anywhere! The batteries are seven years old & I'm thinking they have lost there power & the living room slide is just to heavy (has three compartments that slide out)! I think I need new batteries!

Any info or input would be appreciated.

Are you adding more water than usual to batteries? If so that could be your problem. Although if on shore power or generator and the problem exists, then I would not suspect the house batteries.

Sounds like it may be the slide switch. I am very surprised that any coach manufacture would allow the slides to be put in or out with the ignition key in the on position!!

Also, if you will post the make, model and year of your coach you might get a few more responses.

Slide issue

Unit is a 2007 Terra LX 32K with 2 slides, both electric. The emergency brake must be on with engine running. I thought it might be the batteries because of there age & the weight of the large slide. It operates slow, stops & after a delay it runs again. Maybe it's allowing time for the batteries to recover!

Sounds like a self resetting circuit breaker is tripping and then resetting. If you can find a clamp on ammeter you can see how much current the slide motor is drawing. Self resetting circuit breakers are notorious for failing and tripping at a lower amperage than specified.

With the slide moving slower than normal, it sounds like you are drawing too much current and there is a auto reset breaker that resets and allows the slide to continue. May be caused by binding or a bad connection. My big slide was moving real slow and I found the 12 Volt connection on the controller to be loose, that is the solder connection for the spade lug on the circuit board was not soldered very well and the connection was loose, a little solder and now it moves much faster.
