Load leveling hitches

2000 39ft. Bounder freightliner chassis, in my owners manual it says NOT to use load leveling hitches as damage could result. I've been pulling my 20 foot enclosed full of motorcycles with no load levelers with no issues. However I'm going to be pulling a 28 foot enclosed with a car and golf cart much heavier and more tongue weight. Looks like I'm OK as far as total GVW to pull it but how to handle the increased tongue weight without load leveling bars. Any suggestions?

Is your coach a full length frame coach?? Some coaches are not and have a add-on frame that are not designed to hold weight and just designed to pull weight. Our 36' dolphin was that way. Hitch was there to "pull" a toad and not there to support tongue weight. Is your hitch rated for 10k#???

39+28=67. Plus probably some hitch length, so more likely 68-69ft overall. Does your state allow over 65ft length while towing??

Has a very well supported hitch welded to the frame, looks like it was added to rear of frame. Yes for length we are 75 feet here in Ohio, I don't have any doubts that the hitch will support the weight however not sure what's going to happen when I lower all that tongue weight on it. Will the air ride system simply relevel the coach? I'm not sure why they don't want a bar type hitch used, as my son has a class C and uses them on his. I see alot of rigs towing this way just never looked at their hitch arrangements. Thanks for the reply.

Many possible reasons.

One suggestion is to collect your data and submit to manufacturer for evaluation.

Load leveling hitches can lift the tow vehicle off the ground so manufacturer mar be CYA by stating not to use.

If rear of frame has been extended or is just long then the leverage adds up.

If your tongue weight is within reasonable limits you may be good.
