Load meter toggles between amps?

We are in a campground in the badlands and my Load meter keeps flashing between 50 amp and Gen set.Does that mean the voltage is fluctuating at the pedestal? I should know this

I wouldn't think so. My thought would be the EMS is defective or the transfer switch is having trouble. Not sure how it senses between shore and gen set other than from contacts on transfer switch.

It does sound like the EMS is acting up. It senses the use of the generator by a dedicated wire. This is what triggers the load meter to show shore or generator power.

You might try turning off all power both 120 volt & 12 volt to reset the EMS. There is a small fuse on the EMS board, pull it. Leave power off for ~15 minutes. This will reset. While the power is off try pulling each of the wiring harnesses and plugging back in to make sure the connections are correct.

If this doesn't work call M&M Electronics https://www.mmrvelectronics.com/
They still support the Intellitec system. I contacted them when mine failed, lightening strike, and they helped me troubleshoot and ultimately sold me a new upgraded board and load display. If your EMS system has not been upgraded it is obsolete. The upgraded board requires a new load center. Be careful when buying because some suppliers don't provide all the required components.

x2 on jacwjames

Don't dilly dally. Instead of EMS mine was the inverter intermittently shorting out almost causing the unit to catch fire but main wire burned out first.

Be safe and best wishes. Let us know how things work out - Richard

x3 on jacwjames, but it's not necessarily the Intelletec EMS that is acting up. That "dedicated wire" comes from the genset start switch (usually one of the inside remotes), which is how the EMS detects that the genset is running. If the "Genset ON" light is flickering, the EMS will flicker in response. Fortunately the change in status between Generator and 50A Shore is essentially nothing, so power to the coach is not affected. However, if you were plugged to 30A shore power, there would be a distinct change.

So, try the rest of the EMS as suggested, but also observe the genset start/stop switch to see if the On light is flickering. It may not be easily visible, though, and the it doesn't take much voltage to make the EMS change the status to Genset vs 50A shore. The wiring harness for the genset remotes is notorious for shorting internally when moisture accumulated in the harness. Sometimes it even starts the generator all by itself!

Thanks everyone for advice. The maintenance guy came out and tested the pedestal voltage and it was fluctuating. He went in to it and the wires were loose, he tightened it all up and everything now is working as it should. But maybe it is because it was unplugged for about 1/2 an hour and it reset itself, like Jim recommended. Any rate all is good for now. Thanks to all.

Gary, a few months ago my generator cranked up while in the RV barn and ran all night. I didn't mention when this was happening yesterday the A/C's were both acting up. They would just shut off and then start back and a couple minutes shut down again. The thermostat would also go blank intermittently.

Fluctuating voltage at the pedestal might cause the Intelletec EMS to switch from 50A to 30A mode but is not supposed to shift it to Generator mode.
