If it is a wardrobe slide usualy will be outside in compartment under slide, unless it has cables then above slide in sofit. If it is a bed slide lift bed look for screws and remove panels. Could be clutch on motor when is last time you had out?
If it's like mine, it's under the bed... pull the matress off, and unscrew the boards at the head of the bed . I stripped the gears in mine due to the pot metal casting wearing where the bearings are and allowing slop. I was lucky enough to find a used gear and was able to build up the casting
Thank you for both of your suggestions. Our slide with "problems" is not the bed or wardrobe. It is opposite the bed and has drawers underneath with our TV and a bench area. Any ideas for access with this new information?
Can you post some pics of both the interior of the slide as well as a picture of the interior of the bays located just under the slide? This might help at least I can tell you where I would look first if it were in our shop.
Thank you everyone for all your help! My husband was so determined to find the problem that he spent the entire Labor Day Weekend working on this repair! He was able to remove the "kickboard" valence and found the problem. The reduction gearbox housing was cracked. He was able to repair it without having to purchase the entire gearbox! AGAIN, thank you for watching and replying to my post! Your suggestions led him to finding the box!
I just got to an rv park with my family and the rear passenger slide won't open on my 2005 fleet wood discovery. Can you tell me how you accessed the gear box and what the fix was for you?
