Look for info re: 2002 Sportscoach Legend 387
Hi - I'm considering buying a 2002 Coachmen Sportscoach Legend 387, but I can't find anything online about specs. I know that this particular MH has the Cat 330hp, but I'm looking for GVW and GCVR as I want to figure out what the towing capacity is.
I've been trying to get specs from the current owner, but I'm not sure he knows and I haven't had the opportunity to look at the chassis spec plate on the vehicle.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I have a 2007 Sportscoach Elite and the towing capacity is 10,000. Mine has a 350 HP Cat. I would think yours would likely be the same. Hope that helps.

they are pretty cool rigs, we looked at one before we settled on our cross country. They are built on the same platform and about 70% of the interior, dash and flooring is interchangeable with the later (03-06) elite and cross country. they are typical with the 3126b cat and allison 3000 6 speed. they have a 50degree wheel cut. two known issues with coachmens that we have looked at and own are the roof (leaks as they are rubber) and the slide guides will probably need replacing. if you have any wiring questions post on the forum becuase they share the majority of components with ours! and i wouldn't worry about the chassis specs, but make sure that there was regular maintenance performed and ill see if i can track down some literature for you!

Hey there, Prospect. We recently purchased a 2002 Sportscoach Legend. As you said your coach is similar in many ways, I just wanted to connect. Documentation seems scarce...we have a lot of paperwork but nothing that tells us tank sizes or where to locate switches...all the silly stuff you need to know to actually USE the vehicle. We are figuring out things via trial and error. I am new to "forums" so don't know how to "friend" someone but would like to stay connected perhaps and share knowledge.

Hi there, the tank sizes are going to be 46/46 for both black / grey. the fresh should be 82 gallons. Now even my owners manual doesnt show me where switches are lol. as far as fuses/wiring goes, all 12v for chassis (exterior lights, engine, transmission, ect) will be in one of two places: by the engine in one of the compartments or on the drivers side compartment in front of the front wheel. the remaining 12v (interior lights, slide out fuses, ect) will be in one of two places: if you bed is NOT on a slide out (facing forward) it will probably be behind a fake looking panel on the front of the bed frame. if the bed is on a slide out (facing left to right) it will most likely be in the closet in the rear of the RV. the 110v will be in the same spot or in the compartment with the shore power cord. most other devices like inverters, appliances, slide out mechanisms, can all be looked up with their respective manufactures. Lastly for winterization, your compartments are heated so everything but the tanks will not freeze unless you turn your heater off. if you aren't familiar with winterizing large rv's you may want to take it to a dealer to avoid some $$$$ repairs. if you have any more info please feel free to ask!
EDIT: your slide outs will not operate if the key is in the "on position" or the engine running! took us a while to figure that out. also always good to level your RV before you operate the slide out!
