Sounds like you are looking for Unobtainium.

You are going to have to adjust your list of wants/needs or adjust your budget or run way over weight.

Price per mile is a wash. Gas is cheaper to maintain and there are a whole lot more Ford Dealers than Cummins Service shops. Diesei has air bags and less noise in the cockpit. Diesel may last more miles, but most folks are lucky to drive their MH's 10,000 miles per year.

To me gasser vs DP is largely one of usage senario.

If, for example, using for once a month weekends and a couple week long yearly vacations - gasser. If traveling longer distances and for multiple weeks or months at a time - DP.

The gasser will be less expensive to maintain. The DP will be more comfortable.

Seems to me, with the revelations you have had, you're back at square one. With all you want to tow, DP is the answer. if you can back off on weights and toys, then gas, but the Tundra is not going to cut it.

I have a Newmar 37’ with V10 bought it due to cost savings and lower maintenance costs. Really at my current rate of travel 7k a year I’m estimating 20 years of life. I’m sure it will be sold before that time.

The Differences of torque between gas and diesel is night and day. If want to pull a hill and not drain you fuel tank doing it. Go Diesel. Not to mention all the ignition parts that diesels DON'T HAVE. These are what leave on the side of the road.

Diesel vs Gas

Went from gas to diesel 20 yrs ago never looked back. Engine was smoother ride was much better. Handling on the highway was secure and safer. Like a previous post said going up a hill on a mountain road in a high e
elivation the gas engine would sound like it was coming up through the floor. For me there was no comparison.

It’s not an issue. Tons of old gassers on the road. Even if engine work required it’s a heck of a lot cheaper than diesel maint and repair. Most motorhomes will have house wear out long before chassis.

The class the best fits what you want is the right choice. We got a diesel pusher. We like the engine being 35 feet away while driving and if boondocking the generator 35 feet away while sleeping. Also living in the mountain states we have plenty of power for the long 6-8% grades while towing a 6300 pound toad. So with the list of what we wanted in an RV a desire l pusher came out on top.

LOL a gas vs diesel thread. I've NEVER seen one of those.
Same old same old being discussed in this one.
I went from diesel to gas. Didn't look back. The risk of a $10,000 bill for a diesel repair was the deciding factor. And that is NOT an exaggeration. I am full time and retired and just didn't want that risk. For the few days a month I travel I can deal with the ride and handling. My bank account thanks me EVERY day.
"One and done". Good luck with that one. If you've owned a diesel, owned a gas, traveled thousands of miles in both I'd say maybe you have a chance in picking one you'll keep a long long time. Possible but doubtful.
With the OP requirements there are limited (probably very limited) options with the main one being budget. If you find one that checks most of the boxes ya better snatch it up before it slips through yer hands is my best advice.

It's easy for me. If u want max power then diesel. If u want cheaper fuel costs then gas. Both give u about the same mpg. Diesel will require higher maintenance costs.
