Gas vs. Diesel Motorhome

It is important to mention that this question brings up a very important issue which is not only related to the gas or diesel engine. Most diesel motorhomes have a much more comfortable suspension than gasoline motorhomes. Our Newmar diesel pushers ride is like floating on air, which we are. We have been to the west coast many times and the coach we have climbs all the mountain passes very well and does so with little effort. This is not to say that gasoline powered rigs won't make the trip only we are much more comfortable and saves wear and tear on me and my bride. Either way you go the main thing is to go. Enjoy our beautiful country while you can.

Sure gas is cheaper than diesel at the pump, usually. But diesel has about 1/3 more power, so I get better mileage. That savings will take a long time to pay off the higher initial cost of the diesel engine. 202 Ram 2500.

At what point in time will it be illegal to own or operate a diesel that is not in a commercial fleet?
