Lost power from pedestal

Hooked to 50 amp pedestal, all running good. Awoke to generator starting, brownout alarm on. Shut off gen. Magnum showing 188 volt on line one, 44volts line two. Turned gen. back on, 118 volts both lines In am shut gen. off both l1 and l2 showing 34 and 40 volts. Re-started gen. everything running ok. Inverter checked out ok. Voltage at surge protector showing 121/118 no amps. draw at all. Shut power at ped. back on, ran thru 123 seconds back on still reading 118/119 volts, no amps. with gen. off. Today I will put spare surge protector on and recheck. After that where to go? Power cord and reel inside closet, then what? Getting a mobile tech here in so east Tn. not easy. Need help. Staying warm with gas furnaces. 2010 Monaco 42 SKQ

The lopsided voltage happens with a bad neutral connection on the 120/240 volt 50 amp service.

It won't happen with no load on it, but if the surge thing is showing good voltage and your seeing uneven voltage inside, the problem is inside, after the surge thing.

You will need to check every connection from the shore power plug, to the main breaker panel.

If the surge thing is shutting down the power, causing the generator to run, then its a problem before the surge thing.

Sounds like the pedestal has a bad or weak neutral. Do not connect to it until it is corrected.

Fully agree with the others. Bad neutral and potentially very damaging to your RV electrical gear. Need to determine if its the pedestal (e.g. a loose or corroded wire there) or your shore cord or wiring from it to the load center.

Try re-positioning the cord reel , ( run the reel so it's internal contacts are in a different location say 90 degrees ) wouldn't be the first time the internal contacts have messed up.
