Made the plunge
Closed the deal today on a 1995 Bounder, 32 h on ford chassis, it has just under 20,000 miles, 7 k generator with 380 hrs. one owner. It is really clean, showing a little age, but I think it is a good starting platform.

Congrats, haven't you learned yet, if there's no pictures, it's just a rumor? Come on, show your new baby off.

380 hours on the generator in 20 years?
Too low. Hope it works out.
Cheers!

Good choice hvac45. We drove our Chevrolet '93 Bounder for 22 years, rolling up 200k miles and it is still on the road. Very little has ever needed attention other than normal maintenance and never had a major problem. I have met other Bounder owners that reported the same experience, with well over 100k on their rigs. The coach body has held up well in the Northwest and we mostly drove secondary roads and miles of off highway driving on very rough roads. Through all that nothing has ever come loose inside or out. The Onan 4000 generator on our 22 year old Bounder has just over 350 hrs, with no associated problems. The only failure has been a relay on the control board.
The wife wanted a new rv with all the niceties they offer. For just me, I would have kept the Bounder for my lifetime. Knowing every inch of that rv and knowing how to maintain, diagnose and fix whatever came up, instilled a feeling of confidence in my travels.
Now a lot of that confidence is missing until I can learn more about the new rig. Best of luck with your clean Bounder, hope you end up as satisfied with ownership as we have been.
