The information of removing the battery positive cable is also located in the Magnum remote manual.

That might make some sense especially if the peripheral devices are more subject to being damaged. However, I wouldn't want to be proved wrong to find the inverter is just as susceptible. LOL
I suppose the only work around would be to unplug all data cables to the inverter and the power/twisted pair plug to the BMK. HMMM...I will email ME on that.
Of course, that assumes there isn't already a cutoff switch on the positive cable's to the battery bank. That would be the best answer.

There is at least on post on here about someone blowing out their Remote by not removing the positive lead first.
On my Winnebago with the MS-2012 inverter the factory put a "salesmans switch" near the inverter on the main positive lead from the inverter to the battery bank. So, turning that disconnect off removes ALL positive connections to the inverter - including the solar panels because the solar charger is connected directly to the battery bank.
The BMK is still connected to the batteries and it's controller is plugged into the inverter input, but this doesn't seem to be an issue.

A battery cutoff switch to the positive side of the battery bank removes all positive current to the inverter. That would kill any potential issues to the data cable links to peripheral devices. The only other potential problem would be the direct connect of the black and red wire connections of the BMK to the batteries. I'm thinking that particular connection is NOT really a problem but I've asked ME about that.

If you havent cut the BTS off of the cable, you can simply place it on the battery and tuck it under a cable or hold down.
The ring terminal is not a conductor, its just a way to attach it.

I appreciate all the responses but I think about 90% of them didn’t help. I don’t have any desire to upgrade my inverter control panel. I already have auto gen start. The end that is shown in this picture is what is no longer attached to the flat wire and the battery. I just wanted to know what it was monitoring on the battery and if needed. If it’s only checking the temperature of the battery than it seems like a waste of my time to fix it.

If your current remote doesn't provide temperature compensation for the charge, you are correct. However, if it does compensate for temp then it could be very important. I won't bother with explaining why. ADIOS!

Sky_Boss I would assume that mine monitors the temp or it wouldn’t have the wire going to the battery. I’ll try and find a replacement cable. Thank you for your help.

Thankfully, most have to courtesy to simply thank those helping and not point out that they find all the other info a waste of their time.

Its not only monitoring the battery temps, it adjusts the float charge rate according to the temps it senses.
If its shorted it may cook your batteries or leave them cronicly undercharged.
