Main Slide Out Topper

I have a 2007 Fleetwood Terra LX and having an issue with the main slide out topper. It seems to have shifted and now resisting the slide from opening. The roller/fabric is rubbing against the top flange of the slide out. I am not sure who manufactured the unit as I cannot find any name on it. Searching around it looks like it may be a Colorado Carefree but cannot find any instructions that is similar. I will probably need to reset it higher but concerned why it just started to do this as well. I have attached a few photo's to see if anyone can identify it. Would like to know if anyone else has experienced a similar problem. Thanks..Gary

Not sure, which topper you have. I had similar issues on my A &E last year and what happened in my case was the screws holding the tensioner bars broke and the bars subsequently bent. Once bent there was no clearance between the roller and the slide.

I replaced the bars, but instead of using little #8 sheet metal screws and a pop rivet, I drilled and tapped for a 1/4-20 screw. Pictures attached.

Thanks for sharing your problem, it looks as though I need to reset and shim the mounting bracket to get the clearance. The topper has no markings on it that I can find and would like to confirm to look up installation specs and procedure to remove.

I just twisted until I had the max clearance and drilled and tapped new holes.

In the second picture, you can see how the mounting arm is angled down. If you can figure out how to remove the cover, it will likely show you that the mounting screws are lose or broken. At that point, you will be able to come up with the best repair plan.

Found pics online; looks like a Dometic 9800018.401U

That is what happened to me. The screws holding the rod to bracket broke at the head

I finally repaired the slideout topper. It has a Dometic topper and the mounting brackets bent upwards allowing the roller to rub on the upper flange. I purchased new mounts and reset it according to the specs, seems to work fine now. Thanks for the suggestions, took awhile to determine the manufacturer of the topper.
