Manual/ Push Button Electric Switches

Hello all,

We have run into a perplexing problem. All of a sudden all four electric switches (the kind you push on or off, see pics attached) in our coach have stopped working. All at the same time, as best we can tell. The crazy thing is, all four do completely different things. One operates the televator with the main tv, one operates the main overhead light in the bedroom, while the remaining two are on the captain chairs for operating the two hydraulic slides on each side of the coach. Also, each of the four buttons has a small green LED light in the center that lights up when you either push the on or off button, or the up or down button. So it does receive power, it's just not operating the task it's supposed to do. Has anybody encountered anything like this? We checked the fuses below the driver side, as well as the GFCI outlets in the bathroom (I am desperate, so I tried those as well), but nothing works.

We have a 2022 Tiffin Phaeton 40IH. Thank you in advance for any advice or idea you can give us.

Well, a quick call to Tiffin tech support solved the problem. It turns out those buttons are operating as remote switches, with a battery in them. You can just gent;ly pull them off the wall and you'll see the button-style battery underneath. So as long as the little green LED light in the middle comes on when you push them you know the battery is still ok.

In our case, what solved the problem was a switch right inside the front door under the touch panel that says Battery. The technician had us switch that to off, wait a minute and then switch it back to on. It is basically an emergency power switch off. After the power came back on at least two of the four switches are now working again. We will try the slideout switches on the front seats next time we have the motor running. Always a good feeling when you can solve those pesky little issues this easily.

Glad you worked it out so quickly. I was going to suggest checking the batteries as they've gone almost totally to wireless switches.

Think the switch Tiffin told you about is often called the “salesman switch”.

Yeah. You rebooted the Spyder system by doing that. I have to reboot my 2022 40IP Allegro Bus every month or so when it starts acting flaky.

You should have a physical house battery bank shutoff somewhere on your coach. I use that to reboot the entire 12v system.
