Manual slide retraction

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to manually retract the slides on my 2013 Fleetwood Terra 35 k? I do not have a problem with them now, I just want to be prepared and right now I can not find the electric motors, locks or screws to retract with.

Many thanks in advance!

Do you have the original owner's manuals? Mine, while probably different, has instructions in the owner's manuals for manual slide retraction.

If your slides are electric, my 2008 Bounder manual says to unlock the brake on the motor then use a wrench to turn the shaft on the gear case to move the slide. I have never tried it and hope I never have to. You can also unplug the motor and connect a battery charger to the motor. Of course if the motor is the issue this will not work.

Hi! and thanks for the kind responses. Yes I do have the owners manual and the descreption of how to open and close is very generic. It also states a detailed operating and maintenance guide is included in your "Owners Information Package". I also have an "Electric Slideout System Operations Manual" from Power Gear which shows in detail how to retract manually. The problem is that none of it can be seen from under the coach. Not on the living room slide (13 feet long) or the bedroom slide (about 5 feet wide. On the Terra, the basement compartments do not come out with the slide and there are no slide motors or rails inside of the frame. I will contact Fleetwood customer service on Monday and I am sure they can tell me how to get to them. I was hoping there was another Fleetwood Terra 35K owner out there who could have shared some wisdom. I just hope I wont have to remove storage compartments to reach them. Thanks, Chickapaw

The bedroom slideout gears on my Bounder were under the bed. I'm curious as to where your living room one is. Mine was ( as you know ) visable behind the basement compartments . I'm subscribed.

My slide motors are on top on each side of the slide. Had to remove two trim/seal strips to access inside. Once I gained access, lifted motors and pushed unit in. I had a loss of power to one Motor but have yet to find the problem. Mine is under warranty so taking it to Decatur,IN for repairs in October. Also trying to get some wiring diagrams to help troubleshoot. I found that my manual provided little help and even described a different type. I saw some that have easier access and even manual systems such as cranks. I would like to see the builders make them all with an easy manual override.

I have contacted Fleetwood Tech Support today and was told there is access in the floor of the storage compartment of my bed. As to the larger living room slide I was told that in the roof of one of the storage compartments I will find a metal hatch which has to be opened to gain access to the motor on that slide and a way to crank it if need be I have seen that metal plate while searching the other day and now I know for sure why it is there and what it leads to. Thanks everyone for all the advise and I hope that somewhere down the line another confused Fleetwood Terra 35k owner stumbles onto this post and will know where to look. Thanks Again, Chickapaw

Yes x2. Excellent. It's always good when the mystery gets solved.
