Manuals to get
Hello to all the rv'ers here..
Just got a used Winnebago Elandan '86 vintage, 32 footer and just starting
to learn all about RV's.
I have a owners manual, pretty skimpy on details and need a better one if it is available. I found online a Winnebago part # 054185-24-000 and I believe this is for this year and model RV.
Where is a good place to buy this manual if it is better than the owners manual i have now for this coach?
Have lots more questions but will limit this one to a manual question for now.
Thanks all..
Bruce

Before you buy, try googleing (and go beyond the 1st page). I got almost all my manuals online without spending a dime. Especially that year. Another thing I learned is that there isn't "just one" manual, there's the MoHo manual, the Chassis manuaL, the generator manual, the manual for the generator's engine (no they are not one and the same) and a manual for each of the appliances. I bought an '88 Fleetwood so I can't help your Winnie. Good luck!

Try googleing the part number but you may end up at your local Winnebago dealer. Too bad Winnebago has yet to get into this century and make all old manuals available online. They told me to call a dealer and they would be happy to help me. NOT... Called several times, talked to several people who guaranteed they would order the manual and call me. Neither thing happened. Moved on to a different MH and it had some manuals. Downloaded a later year owners manual which works just fine.

RE: manuals
Yes, i am aware that all the appliances and such not made by Winnebago have their own manuals and will start looking for them soon but wanted a manual that explains all the switch's and other things in this RV. The control panel over the stove top most of the labels are worn off so need a good pix of one so i can re-label.
I have done a search and found a few drawings etc but most only go to 1990 and not much below..at least to 1986..
Ok thanks to both of you..your help is appreciated..I will keep searching.

I searched and searched for almost a month. Try using different key words, I was surprised at what came up when I flip-flopped a word or two. Also check in the various Winnebego forums. '86 isn't that old, I hope you find what you're looking for.

With the exception of the "Motor home" manual.. I have been able to download my Chassis manual direct from the manufacturer, all the appliance and such manuals including slide outs, jacks, air conditioners, and such.. Basically that leaves the walls, doors and windows, and if you need a manual for those........
There are a couple of good "Generic owner's manuals" out there, which cover most all motor homes and trailers.. In a few cases they may be better than the Factory manual (I think the one I have covers my water heater better than the factory, or is it the fridge)
The RV Book and the RV Owner's Handbook, one is a Woodalls publication, the otehr I don't know.

I don't know if it is any help but Winnebago has a brochure on-line you can download for your motor home in pdf format HERE.

Those are just brochures. Owners Manuals for those years aren't posted on their site. I wish they were.
