I stuck pieces of the hook side of Velcro to the bottom bars of our MCD shades where they would touch the window frames to stop the banging when we're traveling. Should also work on Levelor, and it's a lot cheaper than powered shades - unless you really want the convenience of power.

I had the MCD shades and when a couple of them broke and I received no support from them, I removed them all and installed the Automotion shades.
Automotion shade mechanism is more robust and more adjustable than the MCD. Overall, they are a better product.

I did my own install as stated earlier, but if I were to do it again, I would go with the Automotion.......just a s good, maybe even better and less money.
I used door frame foam tape to stop my shades from making noise. I cut 3" pieces of foam and stuck them to the back edges of the metal bar. Quiet as can be.

Don - we are thinking about changing our blinds and we have found the price of MCD's . Time for a stiff drink I think.
I seem to recal that they had a special offer for IRV2 a couple of years ago (minus 30%) and that might get my valet out of hiding, but I can't see any specials anywhere. Maybe this was a "one off thing"?
The Automotion shades don't seem to come with a priceguide. How much cheaper would you estimate that they are - do you know? Maybe this depends on the individual dealer - however, it is not all that clear from their website who sells the shades to the end user.
Any thoughts on this?

The Automotion shades were a little cheaper than the MCD but I don't remember how much.
We had ours installed by Amazing Creations in Junction City,OR. There are a number of installers around the country and I think pretty much everyone that sells MCD also sells Automotion.
You might want to look here Automotionshade - Our Customers and browse the page. I don't know where you are so I would have a hard time recommending where to go other than Amazing Creations, Davis Cabinets, Dave & LJ's, all of which are located in OR or WA.

danes......I couldn't tell you the difference in prices, I'm guessing at least 10%. My sister got the Automotions about the same time I got the MCD's. I think the Automotions are as good or better.
I will tell you, other the windshield, the install is EASY in a Monaco. If I recall, my shades were about $3500.00 for all of them. If you subtract the front power shade, it was about $2500.00 for 13 shades.
