Mileage on 2008 to 2012 Coaches

My wife and I are looking to buy a 2008 to 2012 used 30 to 35 foot coach. I have seen some reasonably priced coaches with 40,000 to 50,000 miles on them.

Please comment on purchasing a used coached with that kind of mileage. Would there be any particular manufactures to stay away from?

Thank you,

RonP

Welcome to iRV2.

Gas or diesel ? At 8>10,000 miles a year I'd say that's average usage , 3>5,000 a year would be low miles.
I say " service records !" look for a coach where the current owner has kept good records of service and repairs.

JMHO: Coaches do better " Used and maintained , rather than Stored and ignored"

If you are looking for a diesel, ignore the mileage. When looking at KBB or any of the similar sites, they don't even want you to list the mileage when putting a diesel MH up for sale...it is irrelevant.

What you are looking at, the mileage is nothing to worry about.

Same question with a gas coach, any big concerns with higher mileage?

Mccail; Welcome to iRV2.

There would be a little of worry , looking at an older gasser , as engine parts for the Ford 460 V-8 and the Chevy 454, are getting a little scarce.
The newer Chevy. 8.1l and the Ford V-10 , mileage up to 80,000 shouldn't be a problem.
BUT: You should also be looking into CCC; ( Cargo Carrying Capacity ) on the RV's weight sticker , as many older gas chassis coaches and some diesel pushers had very little , when I was shopping I looked at a 37' Tiffin on a Workhorse W-22 ( 22,000 GVWR )chassis that had under 900lbs . CCC ; and a fully loaded diesel pusher with under 600 lbs.
For a Class A , I would consider 3,000 lbs , CCC an absolute minimum.
Current coach has 3,700 , and DW and I use up over 2,000 of that.
Here's a picture of the sticker to look for , note , there is no standard location , so you have to open every cupboard and closet to find them.

Looking at a 2010 30' coach with 95000 Kim's, it looks like a really nice coach. Anyone out there with life expectancy of a gasser as far as I'm wise. It does have the Ford V-10 under it.Thanks, Andy
Looking forward to getting out of our 8' camper.
