We leave Minnesota and stop at mile marker 48 just south of Camron Mo on Hwy 35 going south to Texas in January. This is Wallace State Park in Mo, and is open all winter, with water available at dump station and Electric at Sites, for about $11 per night if I remember right. (that may be with a senior discount of $1 or $2

But as long as I have Electric, no problem with freezing the H2O

So thats my first stop heading out of Mpls/St. Paul Minnesota in cold weather. Flush and dump and fill at Wallace State Park, MO.

We've noticed that we can save time and put a few extra miles on by stopping at waysides and getting a light meal out of the fridge rather than stopping at a restaurant for every meal. We will stop at the restaurant occasionaly when traveling but the wayside is quicker (we usually have leftovers in the fridge that just need to be nuked) and the view out the window is usually better- I try to park with the dining window facing the countryside and not the parking lot. Usually more than half of our time spent at a restaurant is spent waiting for the waiter and the food and less than half actually spent eating. We both work yet and until we retire we don't have the luxury of taking our time getting there unless the distance to our destination isn't too far in the first place. Our last "long" trip we were on the road at 6am and didn't stop until 9pm. Not what I wanted to do for sure but to get there and do what we wanted to do within the vacation time we had we had to put on the miles. Lucky for us we both do like to travel on the road and enjoy seeing what's out there as we are going down the road.

I did 450 miles yesterday and I was a whipprd puppy when we finaly arrived. The trafic coming and going on I75 in Georgia and Florida was very heavy. Normally I like 300-350 but needed to get back home this time. I tend to feel that the distance I am going to go in s day should be determined by what kind of area I will be going thru after 6 or 7 hours. If it will be a large city, stop before, if it is wide open country then go a little further. Bob
