Moving from Iowa to Minnesota. Any one have an idea what the license fees are going cost me. 2017 Thor Venetian 40 ft pusher. Thx

There is both a vehicle license fee and a registration tax. I think the tax can vary by county.

When I transferred the title on a 93' Winnebago class a this April I was charged the following...

$10.00 Title Transfer Tax
$3.50 Public Safety Vehicle Fee
$390.00 Sales Tax (on a $6,000 purchase)
$10.00 Title Filing Fee
$8.25 Title Fee

In addition...
$20.00 Goodhue County Wheelege Tax
$285.00 Vehicle Registration Tax

I would think that everything but the sales tax would apply to your situation. Minnesota is a great state but the taxes are a bit high for business and individuals. The Wheelege Tax helps make up for highway funding that has fallen short in recent years and varies by county.

Hope this helps. You could call MNDOT in Saint Paul (651-297-2126) or search for for a local Deputy Registrar in the county were you will be moving to and give them a ring.

One final note... The annual motor vehicle license tabs are expensive on a new car. Tab renewal in 2008 for a 2007 Chrysler Sebring was nearly $500.00.

Yeah, that MN DMV site gets referring readers to yet another page. Alsmost seems like they are trying to hide the real info!

Notice the Vehicle Registration Tax that MinntoMich paid. From what I read, it is based on both vehicle value and age, so a newer or more expansive coach could pay much more than the $285 on that '93 Winnie.
